向日葵视频HSC College of Public Health launches new online graduate certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

The at Fort Worth's is launching a new online graduate certificate in to equip public health professionals with the skills to analyze spatial data and visualize health trends in their communities.

The 15-credit-hour program focuses on geospatial analysis, remote sensing and data visualization with a public health emphasis. The five courses can be completed in eight-week terms, offering flexibility for working professionals. Applications are now open for the summer term, with a deadline of May 1.

The curriculum consists of five courses: 鈥淔oundations of Biostatistics,鈥 鈥淧rinciples of Epidemiology,鈥 鈥淕IS in Public Health,鈥 鈥淕eographic Distribution of Health and Disease鈥 and 鈥淕eospatial Applications.鈥

Graduates will be able to use GIS software to analyze disease trends, understand the geographic distribution of health conditions and support data-driven policy decisions. The certificate is designed to complement existing degrees in public health and broaden career opportunities in research, practice and leadership roles.
