Samin Arianpour of The at Fort Worth鈥檚 has been named the Student Doctor of the Year by the . Arianpour, a third-year student at TCOM, was honored during an awards ceremony at
TOMA鈥檚 MidWinter Conference in Southlake.
Arianpour is the fourth-straight TOMA Student Doctor of the Year from TCOM, following in the footsteps of Quincey Quinn in 2024, Dr. Jennifer Pham in 2023 and Dr. Kendrick Lim in 2022.
鈥淚 am truly honored and this recognition is a testament to everyone鈥檚 collective effort and support along the way,鈥 Arianpour said.
She is the current Medical Student Government Association president and the TCOM鈥檚 Class of 2026 president. Arianpour was named TCOM鈥檚 Student Doctor of the Year in November 2024, inducted into the Omega Beta Iota Osteopathic Political Action Honor Society in September 2024 and the TCOM Chapter of the Gold Humanism Society in February 2025.
Arianpour has been a great advocate for not only TCOM students but also osteopathic medicine. She serves on the Council of Osteopathic Student Government Presidents Diversity Committee. She is also a member of COSGP鈥檚 Wellness Committee, Legislative Affairs Committee, the General Counsel and a Global Health Liaison.
As MSGA president, Arianpour has authored the constitution and bylaws to found the 向日葵视频HSC Student Government Association with students from the other schools on campus. She has also advocated for the revaluation of our mental health resources which directly resulted in the formation of the 向日葵视频HSC Mental Health Task Force.
鈥淎s medical students, we are uniquely positioned to shape policies, influence change, and ensure that future physician and patient needs are met,鈥 Arianpour said. 鈥淥ur voices matter, whether at the institutional level鈥攅nsuring that students have access to the best possible education and support鈥攐r at the legislative level, advocating for policies that protect and enhance patient care.鈥
She is a current member of the TOMA board of trustees and has been providing student input and encouraging more student involvement in TOMA. Her effort has led to a doubling of the number of TCOM student representatives since last March.
鈥淚 am deeply passionate about several areas of health care advocacy, but a few that stand out include health care reform, health care equity and the preservation of the patient-physician relationship,鈥 Arianpour said. 鈥淎dvocacy is not a single action鈥攊t鈥檚 a commitment to stand up for what is right and ensure our profession and patients are always at the center of healthcare decisions.鈥
Arianpour will represent TCOM nationally as she is the nominee for the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine National Student Doctor of the Year. That award will be announced on April 11.
